Artist Bio

Kristy Bennett Bowling creates art not with her hands, but with her heart. Her surrealist style covers a diverse range of motifs and mediums that free her to capture her emotions. In addition to self-portraits, a frequent attraction in her work is the natural world experienced in both daily life and travel. Driven by a passion for music, her art is an expression of the emotive lyrics, beats and rhythms that touch her soul while she is creating.

A native of Athens, Texas, Kristy resides in Dallas where she is a wife and mother. She previously studied graphic design at the Art Institute of Dallas and worked 16 years as a primary and secondary school art teacher. Her art has been featured at the Misfit Gallery in Dallas' Bishop Arts District and the Dallas Pancakes and Booze Art Show in Deep Ellum, and was published in the tribute anthology, Nothing Can Stop Me Now: Stories Inspired By the Songs of Nine Inch Nails.
